New Happenings

Greetings to all my friends,

Summer Solstice has come and gone. The evenings are grow longer and I personally love sewing and creating beauty this time of year. The palette nature provides when you look out your window is inspiration for many a beautiful quilt. Summer is my favorite time of year. I love the fact that the days are longer and I simply have more time and energy.

Spring market was in Minneapolis and it meant an opportunity to take a trip home. I love Minneapolis. It's a beautiful city and has so much to offer.

I began loading new designs to my website and am offering kits and open yardage for some of my designs. Fabrics are on backorder for the moment, but I am taking pre-orders of the Winter Dreams kit which was showcased in an ad in American Patchwork and Quilting this past month. Fabric is scheduled to arrive around August 1st.

Maywood's Serifina fabric is also on order and I will be updating my website on that availability also over the next week. I will be offering kits for Kismet and Enchanted Tapestry. Keep in mind, kitting a quilt simply means that you have no need to search for fabrics. The quilt top and binding are complete. If you ever see a kit on my site and wish to have it "custom sized" for your bed, drop me a note. I'd be happy to help you out.

So many more designs are in the works. Moonlight Garden and The Tiffany Window in the RJR Nouveau Riche fabric is scheduled for arrival this fall. It's simply stunning and was showcased at spring market.

I also posted the Crimson Roses custom kit today. For a $40 deposit on the kit, I will design a quilt to fit your bed size. What more can you ask? The $40 deposit will be applied toward the purchase price of the fabric needed to complete the quilt. Crimson Roses is such a beautiful design and many shops have cut back on inventory, so I didn't want anyone to miss the opportunity to create one of their own.

I entered Crimson Roses and Imperial Garden at the New Jersey Quilt Fest on behalf of myself and Donna Doberstein, my fabulous longarm quilter. Crimson Roses won Best Machine Workmanship and Imperial Garden won 3rd place overall. Imperial Garden will also be published shortly, I'm just debating about finding new fabrics to recolor the design. So much to do and not enough hours to get everything done.

Quilt shops will be happy to discover they can purchase my quilt patterns wholesale with both E.E. Schenck and Checker. I am also offering wholesale purchasing for those that may not have an account with either of these companies.

Be sure and stop back to visit often or sign up for my newsletter to stay in tune with what's happening in my life.

My best wishes for joyful summer full of quilting, networking with friends and famly and fun.

Love flows, Jan
